My gas tank gauge read 1/4 so I stopped to fill it up. When I left the station I noticed that the gauge read 1/2 tank. I knew it was full due to the amount of money I just spent. Took it to the dealership and was told that the sending unit in the tank was bad. Needed replaced - cost was approx. $375. I never fixed it because I can use the digital readout that tells you how many miles until empty to determine when it is low. Also the "Low Fuel" indicator still works. When the fuel gets low the gauge reads towards empty - it's like having 1/2 of a gauge. When it's full it reads 1/2 but when the needle is toward empty it low. Stupid.....
