It seems as if Ford did a disservice to other vehicles. This problem is widespread, namely my 07' Lincoln MKX. The PCM/ECM/ECU failed and burned up 3/5 coil packs. The vehicle is 11 years old with only 94k, obviously it hasn't been driven to death.
Update from Apr 26, 2020: In addition the Catalytic Converter failed as the service engine light came on once the PCM was replaced emitting 4 codes all of which were the same. These cars are terrible, Does someone have to die before there is a recall? I saw so many complaints about the same thing, yet Ford was not made to take responsibility. This complaint is also listed in more detail under #13 somewhere.
