I was driving down the Florida Turnpike on December 7th at 1:00 pm. There was no traffic near me. I hear a sound like someone had shot inside my car. I pulled over and saw nothing. There was nothing in the road. I was so shook up it took me a while to get back in the car. That evening I went to wash my car and noticed the moonroof was slightly cracked on the left hand side. That noise was the moonroof exploding. I was shocked, for there was nothing that hit the car.
As the week went by the moonroof came apart. I could not drive it. I went online and found this had happened to others with the same make and model car as mine. They described it as it had happened to me. Some were just sitting in their car when this occurred. There is something in the engineering of these vehicles for it to happen to so many. I feel Ford should recall these vehicles and we that have paid out in my case $500.00 deductible should be reimbursed. I notified my insurance company. It took two months to get my car fixed. This has been such a stressful and expensive cost to me.
