Although the warning was displayed, I was not aware that my car only had an electronic power steering. This type of issue is one that can truly cause a serious accident should one is driving when their power steering go out. The power steering on this car stops more than just your steering wheel and I for one think that there needs to be a recall. It's a good thing that I was parked and glad because my daughter was with me.

Initial incident and failure mileage probably earlier. The 15-20 stalls experienced have occurred intermittently when starting from a stop or accelerating from a stop slowly. I have taken the car to the dealer at least four times, but the problem never manifested itself during those visits. I finally called Ford customer service when I had three stalls in one day in mid April. Ford customer service case#cas-2461287 has complete details. Ford customer service had the dealer install a unit which had a button to be pressed during each incident. I pressed the button three timed (max allowed). One incident was a definite stall, the other two, were weak. The dealer results indicated that the car was operating normally and that one press was done while the car was in park (not true) which I told the dealer and Ford customer service. I received no satisfaction other that an X-plan deal on a new car, when I told them I wanted to sell the car and would not buy another Ford product. Today, I became aware that the problem is more widespread so I will not use the X-plan. While my stalling problem with eco-boost is not as serious as some, I have read about. It remains a serious safety issue. The ar is under warranty with 31,000 and seven months of 48 remaining. I am not certain what component is failing...updated 07-05-13
