There is an apparent transmission issue and, according to my research, it is somewhat common with this model vehicle. There is an intermittent problem with shift delay and/or "jumping" during acceleration from first gear. Often happens at stopped position at light and is dangerous if turning in front of oncoming traffic. I was hoping for a recall on this issue, but guess I'll have to take it to a repair shop at my expense. As for any warning lights.... about a month ago, the check engine light came on while we were traveling, but went away on its own by the time we got home a couple days later, so don't know if it is related or not? Below ask when "incident"occurred, but it has happened multiple times so I will just list first approximate date.

Turbo has gone out but this makes the second time that this had happened. I have investigated this problem with others and have found the same problem with the turbos! I notice it smokes excessive and was told its a fire hazard and not to drive on highway. This problem occurred while driving on the street when it began losing power to accelerate!

I have a 2010 Lincoln Mkt and I have been having trouble with the power steering. It randomly stops working and it difficult to steer the car. I almost hit a mailbox today because the steering became so stiff and the alert came up on my dash. There is a recall for the 2011 and 2012 models but the NHTSA recall should include the 2010 models as well. I have children and this is a huge safety hazard! I won't even be able to resell the car in this condition as it is random. Please consider looking into this issue promptly as I can see there have been other complaints and my situation is not unique. I pray to god I don't get in an accident because I don't have any other options for transportation and will try to avoid using the interstate in meantime. Thank you for your time! please update me at [[xxx] or [xxx]. information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

I bought certified (cpo) 2010 Lincoln Mkt in Aug 2013. It had a mileage of around 50500 miles. After running just around 5K, it shivered and broke down on a trip when I was about to merge to highway from an exit and there were white fumes from the cylinder. At first they mentioned, there is a problem with fuel injector and it needs to be replaced. Later they mentioned of a problem with few other parts and replaced the same too. Then they mentioned of replacing the engine and done the same. But problem didn't solve. Later they changed the torque sensor or something and gave the vehicle after 1.5 months. But I was hearing some type of noise from the hood and returned to dealership in 2 days. And then they mentioned of replacing engine belt and axle. But still problem was unsolved and they asked me to authorize for opening the dash to determine the problem. But I opposed it and contacted Lincoln. Later they authorized the labour and took the car again to workshop. After that they changed pulley belt. But the noise didn't disappear. Later they had an engineer from Lincoln come and examine the vehicle. And the engineer asked of replacing the transmission. But it too didn't work. And the Lincoln engineer came up again and mentioned of replacing 1 upper engine mount, 1 upper transmission mount, 1 front engine roll restrictor, 1 rear engine roll restrictor. It's already more than 4.5 months since when vehicle is under repairs and with no luck. In between a claim was made with Lincoln to buy back or replace the vehicle, but they refused the same as well. So far below repairs have been made but the problem is still not solved 100%.

First time I was driving at about 20 miles per hour and let go of the gas pedal the car jumped out of drive and did a jerking sound they replied it was 2 solenoids were replaced the next time I was diving up a hill with a 20% grade and tried to accelerate and it lost all power. It remained the same on acceleration. No power what so ever until I made it to the top.

When I first got the car in 2010, the first incident occurred while I was driving about 40 mph. I would step on the accelerator and the car would jerk and the RPM's would rev up and nothing would happen. On an oil change service, I reported this to the dealer and they said they could not reproduce the incident and nothing showed up on the computer record chip. On many occasions after, the same thing would happen, I would step on the accelerator and the car would jerk furiously and the RPM's would rev up and nothing would happen...the car was at a standstill. This would happen while I was sitting at a traffic light or trying to make a left turn. If I was trying to make a left turn and this occurred, I could of gotten killed if the car did not move during the middle of the turn....luckily there was no oncoming traffic when it happened. I reported this may times to different Lincoln dealers in the metro detroit area...they all said it could not be reproduced...they made me feel as though I was crazy for reporting this. I would even go to the dealer on the day it would happen so they could check the computer chip within 24 hours of the incident and still nothing showed up. Finally, a check engine light came on about a year ago, and the dealer finally determined that it was a speed sensor that went bad. The dealer could not detect the problem if the speed sensor was partially bad, it had to fully go bad in order for it to be detected. This was very frustrating and cost me a lot of time, money, energy and mental anguish wondering if I was going to die because the car would not work while I was turning or in the middle of traffic.

The contact owns a 2010 Lincoln Mkt. While driving approximately 35 mph he noticed that the vehicle was pulling to the right and he could feel vibrations throughout the entire vehicle. He also heard a grinding noise whenever pressure was applied to the brake pedal. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the brakes were repaired. Approximately one week later the failures began to recur and the vehicle was taken back to the authorized dealer where the brakes were repaired again. Upon receiving the vehicle from the authorized dealer the vibrations and pulling toward the right continued to occur. While driving approximately 35 he heard a loud bang and the vehicle pulled sharply to the right. The steering wheel then became very stiff forcing the contact to drive onto the emergency lane and turn the vehicle off. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer where he was informed that there was a failure within the steering column, computer system and tie rods. The vehicle was repaired. While driving approximately 30 mph down a slight decline he heard a loud bang. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where he was informed that the rear wheel driving system failed which was repaired. He also stated that the brake failure continued to occur and the vehicle continued to pull to the right. The failure mileage was 1,000 and the current mileage was 11,000.
