This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
I was going North on collier avenue in naples, Florida stopped at the intersection with davis avenue at 3 pm with my foot on the brake when there was unintended acceleration. I jammed down hard on the brake and shifted into neutral. The motor reved up hard for a short time, the light turned green, the cars ahead pulled forward, I shifted into drive, took my foot off the brake, and the car and accelerator returned to normal and I proceeded forward. Everything returned to normal. I am familiar with unintended acceleration because I experienced it previously in my 1995 (not positive of exact year) Audi.
