pretty bad
drivetrain problem
Car is well maintained. Mostly freeway mileages. I'm in the limo business so my car is well maintained.I think this ptu problem arose prematurely since I take good care of my car. I'm the 2nd person that complained on this site with the same problem. The estimated cost would be around $3k.

I only had 59,315 miles on my MKS and it already needs a significant part of the drivetrain replaced. Ford should be embarrassed to have created such a flimsy transfer case (PTU). Everyone I know that owns an AWD MKS has had to replace their PTU. Clearly there is a design flaw in this unit. Talk to people who own Subaru's, AWD Acura's, AWD Sienna's and they'll tell you that they never had to replace their transfer case. Get your act together Ford and redesign this thing.
