The contact owns a 2022 Lincoln Corsair. The contact stated that while driving 76 MPH a loud booming sound suddenly occurred when the front section of the panoramic sunroof exploded and shattered. Moments later, the glass from the shattered sunroof fell into to vehicle hitting the driver. While attempting to prevent the glass from striking the head, the driver-??s right hand and arm sustained lacerations and bruising from the falling shards of glass. The injuries did not require medical treatment. Additionally, the front driver-??s side and passenger-??s side seats were damaged by the falling glass. The contact indicated that no objects had struck the vehicle to cause the failure to occur. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 13,000.
