The Lexus turned out to be a very unreliable car. The abs unit is the most unreliable of all luxury brands, plus the steering rack starts knocking after 80,000 miles. They have a problem with the abs unit and steering rack, the insulation is much worse than BMW and Audi, music in general will not even come close to the cheapest BMW 5 Series e 60, and the engine noise and noise from the muffler enter the cabin. It turned out to be very unexpected and not pleasant for me. The Lexus clearly does not reach the luxury brand basic standards. The Lexus RX 450h is a shame of Toyota. I am very disappointed and regret that I chose this brand.

I was driving last month (approx 1,07000 miles) and all of a sudden my dashboard display had lights and flashing messages that said there was an ABS brake malfunction. I drove it to the local Toyota dealer (Royal Palm beach, Florida) and they got the error code C 1391 Abnormal Leak in Accumulator Pump and they want the ABS Actuator replaced.

My 100K Toyota/Lexus extended warranty is expired and i am left with no options.

I sent the complaint to Lexus and they replied back and asked me to take it to the local lexus dealership for the diagnosis, after spending $350 for diagnosis in Toyota and Lexus, its the same issue ABS Actuator failed and it will cost me $3720 to fix it.

Also, during ABS diagnostic testing at Lexus Dealer @ West Palm Beach, the car failed to start and was in the dealers lot for 2 days before they fixed the issue (replaced some computer).

Lexus offered me $1000 as partial payment to fix the abs issue, and as soon as i started talking about filing a complaint with national highway traffic safety administration (NHTSA) , they rescinded the offer and sent me a email stating that i am free to report to NHTSA.

I was wondering: How many Lexus owners took partial payment to fix ABS and not report it? Did Lexus report all those cases to NHTSA ? I doubt so!

I think this is customer safety Issue and should be investigated by national highway traffic safety administration (NHTSA) and a recall issued for Lexus ABS.

I couldn't believe that a well engineered car like the Lexus would risk customer safety.

Note: Later I found that eBay (attached screenshot) had sold more then 134 After Market ABS Actuator's, which was replaced without being reported to NHTSA.

The car has been maintained by the dealer, and has an extended warrant. We are only a couple of thousands mile over the extended warranty (time wise still within the extended warranty). The brake totally failed without any warning. Lexus only agreed to pay half of the fix cost and only at the dealer. The car is less than 8 years old and less than 80,000 miles. I can understand if there are wear and tear on certain parts or deterioration of the performance, but a total failure on the main safety component? I feel like for a company boasting the safety and reliability of its car, Lexus should cover all the fixing cost.
