On September 18,2019 @~12pm while parking my 2007 Lexus Rx 350 driving at very low speed <5 mph the vehicle suddenly accelerated hopped a curb and I went into the road. Thankfully I didn't crash or hit anyone. Mileage at time was 52549. I read on here other people had similar issues. I didn't see any recalls for this problem on my vehicle. My floor mats are no where need the gas pedal. The mats are locked in place by the pin. They don't move. I plan to take the car to Lexus dealership. They must be aware of this issue.

The contact sustained minor scrapes and bruises, which required medical attention. Upon a follow up visit to the hospital, the contact was diagnosed with an concussion. The vehicle was destroyed and towed to an independent mechanic. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact that the floormats caused the vehicle to independently accelerate. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign number: 11V112000 (vehicle speed control) as a possible cause for the failure. The failure mileage was 163,000.

I was driving on hwy I-South and I had my car cruise at about 68 mph. Due to downhill road ahead I took it out of cruise as sometime car goes few miles above cruise limit. Now there was uphill road so I put it no cruise again about 65 by pushing cruise arrow up direction. This time suddenly it accelerate and engine RPM shoot up very high and speed kept going up. In mater of 2-3 seconds it was 80 mph. My break did not work and I took it out of cruise and it stop going up. I was really scared that this may go out of control. I been driver this car from four years and I don't know how this happen. I feel scary to put my family inside this car. I have 10 month old and 3 years old daughters. I cant let anything happen to them because some software malfunction in this car. I am an electrical engineer and I also work in automotive and never came across something like this. I hope you can answer my concern.

I parked my car in a parking spot to do some errands and, before I could put the car in park and turn the car off, the car shot forward and went through some shrubs, across a walkway, and finally ran straight into a brick wall of one of the stores I was going to. Several bricks fell off the building and, needless to say, I was as shaken up as the building. Since there is a wide walkway between the shrubs and the building, if anyone had been going to or from the store, that person or persons would, in all likelihood, have been killed. There were several witnesses who saw my car pull into the space, come to a stop, and then fly across the shrubs, sidewalk and into the building. My foot never touched the accelerator at the time of the incident and, according to the company that repaired the car, there was no need to adjust/replace the floormat or the accelerator or the brakes.

At approx. 8:05 am on Thursday, December 2nd I was stopped behind a school bus that was picking up children at the intersection (1-2) min wait) I gave the car enough gas to make the right hand turn onto crockers lake blvd. Which is only approx. 150-200 ft in length. I estimate the speed was between 10-15 mph when I began braking to make the left hand turn into the citation club apartments when I noticed the vehicle was not slowing. I pressed the brake pedal harder and the car continued to pull against the brakes. As I approached the end of crookers lake blvd I had both feet on the brakes and the car was slowing, however the engine was "screaming" and the tachometer was approaching to "red-line". I managed to make the left hand turn and as the car slowed I shifted it into park to stop it. The engine was screaming so I turned the ignition to off position. I attempted to restart the vehicle and it immediately red-lined again; I immediately turned off the car. Updated 03/11/11

My 2007 Lexus rx 350 will occasionally slow down and feel as if it is going to shut off when I press the gas. It will then suddenly accelerate and jolt causing me to depress the brakes in order to slow down. I have advised Lexus of the problem and must bring it in for service. This has been happening since I purchased the car in 2008.

Random acceleration! my rx 350 Lexus was returned to the dealer for repair less than a month after I purchased it for random acceleration. I explained that although I am not accelerating my vehicle accelerates rapidly and lunges forward. I have to take my foot of the gas immediately and apply the brake. Sometimes it happens 3/4 times a day and sometimes not for a week, thus the term random. I have brought it in to park place Lexus and called numerous times. They drive it a few miles and tell me nothing is wrong. I even pleaded with the owner of park place, chris brunner to keep my car and drive it until he experienced the random acceleration, he refused and told me to call Lexus headquarters. I did call and was on hold for 38 minutes. Lauren shields of Lexus also told me nothing could be done. I think Mr. Al smith, the vp of customer satisfaction should monitor how good customers and repeat buyers with serious vehicle problems are handled. I am now at 52,000 miles and past warranty, (I think this was their plan- to dance around the problem until my warranty ran out) I worry if I will be able to stop my vehicle the next time this happens. The random acceleration started immediately after purchase and it was prior to any recalls, any tv news casts or newspaper articles. We have 2 highlanders, and this is my 4th Lexus, we are good customers and nothing has been done. I think the random acceleration is a problem for many more vehicles than they have recalled!

Re: 2007 Lexus RX350. Response time from gas pedal action to car responding is slow (about 2-3 sec.) I never know when the car is going to start/stop moving. The start delay is constant. Acceleration reduction is also 2-3 sec. And infrequent. The most recent prolonged acceleration event is documented in your approximate incident date spaces. If I need to try to get out of another drivers path and step on the gas in order to "move", the rear end squeals and control is sacrificed. Two different Lexus dealers have seemed unconcerned and have not even documented my complaints.

Lexus RX350 auto-acceleration. While pulling into a parking spot (at a slow speed) in a parking structure, the engine, without pressure on the gas pedal, suddenly reved up to high speed and accelerated into the wire retaining cabled and wall of the structure. The distanced traveled was less than 10 feet before the car was stopped by the retaining cables and the wall. The front end of the car and the structure were damaged. The impact was severe enough to break 5 of the 7 cables. The airbags did not deploy.

I drive a 2007 Lexus rx 350 which was purchased and I have noticed that periodically it surges forward when my foot is on the brakes. It happens a lot even in slow traffic. I first noticed it when backing out of my driveway a few times. At that time I got so frightened that I had to check if I made a mistake and pressed the brakes instead, but my foot was definitely in the brakes. I travel on an expressway to get to work in the mornings and quite a few times I notice the surge, but usually I am driving slowly. In general I'm not a fast driver. I mentioned it to the servicer of my car, they drive it and indicates that they did not find a problem. It does not happen all the time, only periodically. It is very frightening because it is so unpredictable.
