Fuel lines in the firewall can break off from old brittle plastic clams and rattle around at idle/under load, my noise was reminiscent of a woodpecker in my dash at idle. The fuel lines are hard to access or inspect unless the intake manifold is removed. Prolonged use under this condition could lead to tension and disconnection of the fuel lines leading to the engine.
