I called Lexus to report that the trim on the back passenger side 1/4 window, had fallen off. The informed me that they could not replace just the trim, that the whole window had to be replaced. I was shocked and annoyed at what appeared to be an easy, inexpensive, quick fix, was not, but would cost $380!! If I had not lost the piece while driving and had it not blown away, I would've just put crazy glue on the tabs and locked it back into the holes the tabs went into. It has been 2 months since this happened and I don't like the fact that I am driving, what I believed to be a well made, solid vehicle, around with pieces missing and the potential of water damage and rust now happening. I would love to find just that trim piece and crazy glue it!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone have it to give?

The trim that seals the rear side window came off. Lexus designed the vehicle so that in order to replace the trim, the window must also be replaced as they come as one item. Lexus represents the part is $166.00, and that does not include the labor. It is reasonable to assume the cost is $250.00 with the labor. There is a Lexus claims department, at 1 800 255-3987, extension 3. While the part if beyond the warranty time, the part is expected to last for the life expectancy of the vehicle. I am in California, and there is a statute under California Business and Professions Code, section 17200 et seq., which is commonly known as the California Unfair Competition Act. The Act allows for attorney's fees and statutory court costs in a complaint. The Lexus simply has too many problems. The seat belts don't slide back up. And, today, 11/23/2011, the Internet site of blogs.cars.com informed me that this make and model is being recalled to correct a potential defect with the power steering pump. The matter involves 283,000 Toyotas and 137,000 Lexus vehicles in the United States.
