The contact owns a 2017 Lexus NX200T. The contact stated that his wife was driving approximately 5 MPH, the power steering suddenly malfunctioned and the steering wheel became extremely difficult to turn in either direction. After turning off and restarting the vehicle, the failure persisted. During the failure, the message -??power steering malfunction, steering power low visit your dealer-?? had displayed. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer who replaced the power steering assembly ECU and the steering column, and the vehicle was fixed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 47,970. The contact stated that at the time of failure, the steering jerked violently back to center after attempting to turn it left and right. All power steering function was lost at time of failure.
