This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
I own a 2004 Lexus LX470. The center console instrument array had to be replaced twice since I purchased the vehicle. There was no crash or accident. But when it died, there is no functionality of the speedometer, heater, ac, radio. It was replaced both times, the first time under warranty. The second time, the dealer replaced it outside of warranty free of charge. I was told it would have cost over $4500. The fact that they replaced it at no charge to me after the warranty expired makes me suspicious this is not an uncommon occurrence.
