The contact owns a 2008 Lexus LS460. The contact stated that the surface of the dashboard began to deteriorate and produced a sticky substance. While operating the vehicle, the sunlight created a glare on the dashboard that impaired the driver's vision. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who indicated that the failure was caused by a chemical reaction in the dashboard and that it needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 45,000.
