It's a depreciation issue. It totally affects the resale amount of all of our vehicles. I had a new $1000 door panel installed in February of 2014, didn't last 3 years. So, they're replacing Poo with more Poo. My dashboard is now a bug and dust/dirt trap. I can't even run a paper towel over it without it ripping or tearing.I'm ready to move forward with a legal approach. I heard of a Lawyer Firm out of Miami, FL, Ferrara Law Group. They are, and will be, my next phone call.

dash board, arm rests melting

My only issue is owning a luxury vehicle (LS460L) and with very low mileage and this is happening. I have given rides to friends that have commented on my nice car and when they rode inside have asked what is wrong with your dash. It is sticky to the touch and can create a glare with it being so shiny. It offends me that I paid so much money for this car and deal with sub par materials that deteriorate even in moderate heat now. It only has to be 80 degrees and it will start getting tacky!! Even if I wanted to sell this car, who would want to buy this car? Lexus has changed my doors out but was told because of price they would not change my dash even though they acknowledged there is something wrong!!!

For a number of years I have tried unsuccessfully to clean the light grey leather throughout the interior of my car. I have spent money on products that never worked and time trying to scrub off dirt inside my car. Only by accident did I discover that the leather interior was faulty. Then I get the notice. My dash has been replaced by the dealer. But there has been no fix mentioned for the rest of the interior. It is nasty looking. I feel the only reason that it has not cracked and peeled is because my car has always been housed in my garage. If I park outside in the sun for several hours, the leather becomes sticky. The outside looks great - the interior is awful. I think Lexus needs to step up to the plate and fix this problem.

For the 2007 Lexus LS 460, which is considered one of the most luxurious cars on the rode, anything in the interior that is not made out of hard plastic or leather will eventually melt and fall apart. The dashboard became very sticky. Lexus finally replaced that at no charge after a year of waiting. The door handles are much worse. The type of material they used on the door handles is also used throughout the interior. And it is all crumbling apart. The outside of the car has held up nicely, but the interior is a huge eye sore and constant reminder of low quality choices for a very luxurious car maker. I'm seriously considering switching brands depending on how long they take to fix their mistakes.
