I got my Lexus 350 used at 40,000 miles. It ran okay until I started smelling a burning smell inside cabin. Being a mechanic myself, I checked the problem and it was clearly transmission fluid burning. I went to dealership and they fixed it and it cost me 550. The smell stopped for a while, then when I was traveling from San Diego to Las Vegas, the transmission started slipping after 2 hrs into the drive. The next day, I got same burning smell again for 7 minutes. Then the trans suddenly started thrashing which forced me to lose balance and drive into sidewall.

I got a few injuries and went back to dealership. They said they don't know what the problem is and acted ignorant because my warranty was over. I tried to fix it myself, and the same problem again after just 100 miles. I gave this car right back to the dealer for a way better Honda.

I NEVER EXPECTED IT FROM LEXUS!!

My wife had the '06 gs300 and faced similar problems. I had tons of Lexus customers with fatal probs. I'm glad I learned the lesson from Lexus again.
