After taking the car in for service and inspection the airbag light came on and stays on. I took to park place Lexus grapevine for the takata recall replacement. I told the service person about the light and they told me $100 dollars to diagnose. They called me and told me it is the wire harness which causes the airbag not to function and they tell me it will cost $3300 dollars for a wire harness. I see this is a known issue with a technical service bulletin issued so I do not understand. I have taken very good care of my car which has 88K miles and I a M very upset they want to charge me thousands for a manufacturing issue they have known about.

Takata recall the local Lexus dealer and car maker, Lexus automobiles, are taking an unacceptably long time to remedy this life-threatening defect. This week I have received a letter from the car maker with a warning to not let anyone sit in the front passenger seat when the car Is being operated. This Is the second mailing I have received, and the problem Is described as more critical with each mailing. Since June of 2016 I have been on a waiting list with the local dealer to have the takata device replaced. This delay Is not a reasonable period to wait. Furthermore the local dealer, Lexus of thousand oaks, Is not diligent in assigning people to the recall repair waiting list. My wife called the dealer twice in early 2016 and was assured that our car was assigned. I visited the dealer in summer of 2016 and found that our car was not on the dealer recall repair list. So, only by visiting the dealer was I able to definitely be assigned to the list. Very poor oversight by the car maker of a critical issue being handled by the dealer. The car maker should step-up and create a waiting list website that schedules appointments at any local dealer that Is ready to repair. Some fair method of assigning priorities should be clearly publicized for all car owners affected. The car maker has to be more involved with this recall effort and take the main responsibility away from the dealer. Very, very disappointing to say the least.
Takata inflators - my vehicle has an open recall with no known fix. So I am stuck with a vehicle that now holds no value and that I can not sell. It's worth less than owe. How can you have a recall with no known fix? that is unfair to the consumer and doesn't say good things about the Lexus name. I won't buy another Lexus ever again!

I've contacted my dealership, freeman Lexus, numerous times since hearing about the takata recall in June of last year. 9 months later I am still awaiting repair. The first 5 times I called, I was told to call back and check in to see if the airbag replacement parts where in. The last time I was put on a list in order to receive a loaner car. 2 months later and still no repair or loaner. I have a 2008 Lexus Is which was purchased in September of 2007. I live in ca. Based on the projected degradation timeline of 6-9 years, September of 2016 put my at 9 years. I am not satisfied with Lexus lack of timely repair.

Takata recall. We were told by Lexus 8 months ago not to allow anyone to drive in the passengers seat. Since we always ride together we can no longer use the car. It does not make sense that we bought a car this expensive we can no longer use.

Takata recall I am in zone B and my car Is approaching its ten year mark. I took my car in today and asked the sales assistant if there were any updates about the airbag recall and he told me, "no". what Is supposed to save me in an accident can now kill me. I am very disappointed in the amount of time this has taken and the response to consumer concern. Please put pressure on Toyota and takata to fix our airbags.
Takata recall. Lexus sent out letter earlier this year and put me in the first round of "priority" recall replacement group. Letter also states that recall would be done by the end of 2016 for my group. Thus far I have not heard from Lexus, and when I reached out they said remedy is still not available. I have not been able to seat anyone in my front passenger side which is causing a lot of inconvenience to my daily life.

Takata recall. I have been waiting for an airbag since May. The Lexus dealership told me it was ok to drive just be very careful and noone sits in the front passenger seat. We are a family of 4. my husband drives a 2 seater Jeep. We have had to go out of town twice and drive separate vehicles and separate vehicles in town. It's ridiculous and noone can tell me when a replacement will be available.
Takata recall-passenger airbag. When will the parts be available? I have been waiting more than 6 months. I called local Lexus dealership twice and the parent company once to question when the passenger airbag may be replaced. I was told it is not in their control. The last time I called the dealership where I purchased the car, the person I spoke with was not helpful. All 3 calls were fruitless. I travel a lot and passengers have to sit in the back. I need the car fixed so I can sell it and purchase another vehicle-not a Lexus! nor one with takata airbags.

Takata recall: I was informed of the recall and contacted my dealer. The recall stated clearly that no one should ride in the passenger seat! this Is our only car and we are responsible for two grandchildren that have car seats. We now effectively have no mode of safe transportation. Lexus tells us nothing. I called to inquire about a loaner car and they said they did not have anything available. It appears that it may be a long time before the dealers have the replacement parts. I live in houston, Texas where the most severe weather has affected this part. I am hoping that your department can assist by asking the dealer to loan a car, move us to the top of the replacement list and/or offer a settlement to offset the loss we would have to take to sell the car.
