Bought a Lexus IS 250 brand new. Black exterior and cream leather door pads with some kind of black synthetic door upper pads. These black some kind of synthetic door upper pads are emitting oily substance and it temporarily goes away only when the aircon is switched on to low temperatures. I do not drive with my A/C on due to increase in fuel consumption and high cost of fuel in RSA. The upper door pads are cracking up.

The actual km. done so far till today[10/04/2023] is 61000Km. Tried to get the dealership to sort out the problem but to no avail -- they say that the guarantee has expired. What the heck, this is not a mechanical part, it is fixed. This is definitely a manufacture/wrong formulation of the material used to make the upper door pads.

I have another make of vehicle, in 2 of different types and these two vehicles do not display the problem with my Lexus. I love this car very much, but am totally disappointed that such inferior quality material was used on the upper door pads. The vehicle is parked under cover in my garage at all times when not in use. Really disappointed with Lexus manufacturer in Japan. Regards Robin

Over a year ago my car was inspected at the San Diego dealership. At that time only the front right and left panels were reported as needing a replacement part. Unfortunately, I moved out of state before the replacement panels arrived OVER a year later. I kept calling and calling but no part. Once the parts arrived I explained I had moved and requested parts to be transferred to Texas dealership. Response: No. Of course, I am pissed but decide to drive to San Diego to have the work done. I mean, I waited OVER a year to get this problem resolved. Upon arrival, only two doors were repaired when the back two are way worse now. It's been a year since the inspection. The panels are melting, falling off in chunks. I'm worried the kids will start putting these chunks in their mouths. I am complaining openly to warn others. If you have kids don't buy Lexus. Also, to replace these panels myself costs, over $2,000! I will never buy this brand of car again and I feel foolish to have spent the extra to have a "luxury" vehicle. I don't even feel right about unloading this car onto someone else. Save your time, money, and health and go with a different brand. Lexus, shame on you for not doing the right thing.
