The concern I have for my Lexus Is 250 Is that 3 major safety recall repairs have been completed by the dealer. It feels unsafe to drive to date as it has electrical issues that have caused it to lock up while driving. A problem with the stability control, steering and acceleration most notable in the rain. Today I learned of the takata inflator recalls. I believe this model should be considered in whole for a safety recall.

Vehicle just turned over 100,000 miles. 6-2020 upon a morning start, the vehicle had trouble starting up almost as if it had fuel starvation. I cranked the vehicle up a few more times it was ok it turned on. Upon driving the vehicle had extremely unreliable acceleration, very had sputtering from and to stop lights this was from my commute to work. The vehicle had become unpredictable, some days it would act like that some days it wouldn't. this started to bother me as I rarely worry about situations unless they're dangerous. Late 6-2020 on my way home from work at about 5:00pm the vehichle started sputtering about 1 mile away from my home. As I crossed the intersection of taylor and railroad street. The vehicle died on me at the intersection. I had thought this was just the car with the acceleration problem. So I proceeded to turned it back on. After 10 minutes of cranking the vehicle I had drained the battery completely. Car Is stranded, traffic was a huge build up behind me, vehicle ways well over 3000lbs so I attempted to quick charge the battery, after 10 minutes I had already bystanders help me push the vehicle to the side, due to the massive build up of traffic. 7-2020 after 2 seperate diagnostics I had replaced the fuel injector pump and a cold start valve at the engine. Car was running ok until mid 7-2020 when it began having the same exact issues again. As this was my only vehicle at the moment I had no other choice but to use it one week later after going to my mothers house from work. The vehicle decided to shut off on me completely this time on the road at 35 mph zone. Car seemed to starve of fuel and I had to quickly react since the car was in motion and luckily pullover. Fortunately it was a light day of traffic at the road of cook St. Thats when I had enough, I am complaining because this vehicle Is extremely unsafe and its an issue I can't solve!

Takata recall: The recall should most definitely included the airbag wiring harness, I had no issues with my airbag light until I place my car back in the shop to get the recall a day later the airbag light came on and will not go out. I took it back to Lexus and they notified me that the it had nothing to do with the part they just replaced. However it was not on prior too. The are getting a diagnostic myself I was informed that the wiring harness was bad and my airbags would not deploy, in an accident. This a major safety concern, and a well known issue to happen to the Lexus Is 250, this is a direct link with the takata recall and something that should be cover by Lexus. Faulty air bags are not a customers fault. Air bags where placed in cars for life saving protection, to not include this is the recall is a death sentence for the drivers and there family who are having this problem.

Lexus has a wide know issue with melting dashboards and door panels. My dashboard is melting. It creates a glare when driving, it houses critical electrical components that can pose a huge safety hazard. I drive this car daily and frequently Transport passengers such as family and friends. Lexus refuses to do anything about it. Car interior repair shops have no solution to this problem. Lexus acknowledges that this problem is widespread but is not doing anything to prevent tragedy from occurring. The condition continues to get worse to the point that mechanics are refusing to work on anything that requires have to lay hands on the dashboard because it is literally melting and falling apart. They don't want to be held responsible for any further damage. This poses another safety risk as I can not fix any problems behind the dashboard at all if mechanics are refusing to do work on it. I have exhausted all search efforts looking for a solution. I am genuinely concerned about my safety and others. Lexus has manufactured thousands upon thousands of these vehicles and they continue to be driven on the public roads. Please help.

Airbag light indicator Is on and Lexus insisted they replace the entire wiring harness for over 2K due to safety issues. The price of this repair for an electrical fault Is obscene and Is a common issue with this model of Lexus according to owner forums.

We had our Lexus smogged and the airbag light was on when we picked it up. We took it to the Lexus dealer and they said it is the wiring harness. $3500 to repair. This is not a component that is supposed to fail, so Lexus should be responsible for the fix.

As I was about to park the car on a city street. The electrical steering suddenly failed. It became extremely difficult to turn the wheel. It could be the connectors of the electrical steering cause the sudden loss.

Airbag indicator on dash randomly comes on then goes off. This happened again most recently on 10-20-15. Apparently this is due to a defective wiring harness from the manufacturer effecting 2006 to 2008 vehicles, which when in a failed state disables the airbag system entirely......updated 12/07/15 contact noticed airbag light would intermittently illuminate on the instrument panel for the last 5 yrs or so. Vehicle (2006 Lexus IS250 w. 62,000 miles) with an illuminated airbag light due to a faulty wiring harness. This is a known problem that Lexus acknowledges but refuse to fix without charging (out of warranty) owners over $3,500. There is even a technical service bulletin ("tsb") issued for this problem, the tsb number is L-sb-0167-08. This is an outrageous expense and a recall should have been issued. This directly compromises the safety of the drive, passengers and other parties in the even of an accident.

My navigation system screen stopped working while 1000 miles away from home. The biggest problem with the screen going out was the fact that all of the heating and air conditioning controls are ran through that same unit. Without being able to adjust my temperature in the vehicle I am not able to defrost the windshield in times when it may fog up.
