Today, my engine light, VSC, and tracking light came on. The code came out to be p2440 p2442 p2445. With the little miles that I have gone with my vehicle, less than 60,000. I cannot believe they quoted at over $4,000 to fix the car due to the "air injector system". If Toyota recognizes the problem then why can't Lexus too? They are using the SAME system and it does not sound right to leave it to lexus owner to deal with a defect problem. As a loyal lexus customer, I am deeply upset at the problem it had cause. Another problem is, this came in time right when my inspection is about to expire. Thank you Lexus for treating your customer with 0 customer service and post-purchase experience.

Lexus' secondary air pump is defective and has been recalled on the Toyota side for the exact same part but not on the Lexus side. The part can run $700 and has plastic blades which detach over time and become lodged in the intake system. The car then goes into limp mode and is dangerously slow to accelerate and brake. Lexus put the part in an almost inaccessible place, which adds another $1500-$2000 in labor charges alone. The part only operates for approximately 30 seconds and is only necessary for emissions standards in California. Lexus knows the part has a recall on it for Toyota 4Runners and Sequoias but refuses to do the right thing and do a mandatory recall on the GX470, which shares the same part. (My car is the 2007 model). To add insult to injury, Lexus is still selling the DEFECTIVE replacement part while Toyota no longer sells it. Spoke several times with Lexus client services and was basically told I'm on my own. Doesn't seem right that I should pay upwards of $3000 to fix a defect. Last Toyota product I ever buy/drive.
