This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Frame is rotting from inside out, excessive corrosion. This is a known issue that was common to the early/mid 2000's Toyota Tundra, Tacoma, and 4runner, the latter of which shares frame components. Toyota, for whatever reason, covered the Tundra and Tacoma through recalls, but so far has not done a recall on the 4runner or GX470.
Frame is rotting from inside out, excessive corrosion on an otherwise spotless vehicle. Rear suspension arm broke a way from a frame section that appears rotted. No other rust on vehicle. This happened while driving on smooth road and made very difficult to control. Scared to think if this happened at highway speed. Again..this is a clean..no rust vehicle
