I have a 2010 Lexus gx 460, and when braking the brakes require alot of pressure to bring the car to a stop. When the car is also at a stop it requires alot of pressure on the brake to keep the car stopped or else the car will lurch forward. I did some research online, and found that their are other Lexus gx 460 owners with this same problem. I brought my gx 460 in for a fix twice already, the first time they said they bled the brakes which didn't work, and the second time I brought it in they told me they adjusted the brake which felt better, but after a couple thousand miles of driving the brake is go back to its original feel.

The brakes on the vehicle do not work properly. The brakes feel extremely "mushy" as you are pushing down on them. In addition, while stopped at a red light, significant pressure needs to be held down on the brakes or else the vehicle lunges forward creating an unsafe situation. This was been an ongoing problem with the vehicle from day 1 and supposedly we are told there is no fix for it. We do not feel safe driving the vehicle as is. Please advise.

Two problems with the SUV. One is that when you are at a stop after a while your foot is on the brake the brake pedal seems to go in just a little and the car moves forward, the other problem we believe started when they fixed the roll over problem with the SUV. Every once in a while when you are stopped and put your foot on the accelerator nothing happens until you put your foot down hard.

2010 Lexus Gx 460 driven by my wife. At approx 30 mph the brakes were applied hard to avoid a car changing lanes and the vehicle entered an immediate left skid without wheels skidding due to braking. The brake pressure was released when a it was apparent a collision would be avoided and the vehicle made a violent jerking return to straight travel. This occurred on dry pavement and easily could have led to a serious accident. No accident happened only due to my wife's driving skills. Appears the stability control did not work as advertised.
