Lexus tells me the car is too old and at 122000 miles done to many miles to get any support towards the failure.
I have been quoted by a Lexus authorised dealer that the replacement cost would be £3600 + vat for the part plus labour 3-4 hours, this is in excess of >$5000.
I had been told previously by the same Lexus dealership that these cars will do very high mileage and have users that have had trouble free usage > 350000 miles. Not in my case!!!
It is apparent that while Hybrid is green the real costs occur as they get older, simply more complex, more things to go wrong and extortionate prices that go to Toyota/Lexus, simply because most mechanics stay away from these vehicles.
The dealership offered me £4000 to but the car from mel two months ago, now they have reduced this offer to £2850, much less than the cost of repair!!! Be WARNED!!!
