This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Condensation in the front drivers headlight made may light go out when traveling on highway. Completely unable to see, because of "leveling" lights. I was able to avoid an accident by using my bright lights. I took to the dealer service and was told this is a common problem and that the Lexus rx is already being recalled, but not my vehicle.. this is a costly repair over 1000.
Lexus GS350 in general is pretty a good car but I always having problem with Lexus dealer( westside Lexus in houston tx). Whenever I bring my concerns or show them the problems, they will pretend or refuse to fix until they see the problem by themselves. First was my backup camera flickering and now my passenger low beam is acting up and it's a intermittent problem. Some time it goes dim and completely turns off by itself and I will need to turn off and on the switch for it to work. I even got a chance to take pictures and record video clip to show them but they denied and kept saying that they need it to happens in there dealer before they can fix it. This is ridiculous and very dangerous while driving at night time.
From the time the 2008 Lexus gs, labor day 2008, was obtained I had problems seeing at night on a dark road, highway or interstate. Unless the brights are on there is a black wall in front of the area where the light beams stop. I overdrive the lighted area and drive into the black night. The brights need to be on to see-which is a danger and annoyance to oncoming traffic. I have tried to get this fixed since October 2008. The latest date being January 2011. Lexus tells me that the headlights are adjusted as high as they can go. I asked for them to change the bulbs from halogen to incandescent or to replace the entire unit. Lexus says they can't do that. This is a very, very dangerous situation with this car.
Nearly crashed into the back of a Lexus sedan slowing for full speed toll payment. Even though the vehicle had daytime driving lights, there was no indication in the rear of the vehicle. Heavy rain was affecting visibility and the lack of any rear light indications nearly lead to a multiple vehicle crash. I believe this condition exists on most vehicles with daytime running lights and may very well have led to numerous fatal accidents. No light on the read of a vehicle during poor visibility conditions can no doubt lead to re-end crashes.
