This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Auto dimming glass has started to deteriate causing black streaks and impairing visibility. This is don't a surface level scratch, this is underneath the glass and a faulty product.
Inner rear view mirror discoloration including black streaks and spots make it impossible to safely observe behind vehicle. Lexus has an internal "secret" safety tsib L-sb-0043-16 but refuses to acknowledge it or perform a repair, claiming it is not the subject of a official recall. This is a known issue for many Lexus owners and is widespread across numerous Lexus models over the years of 2006 through 2009 and includes GS300, GS350, GS430, gs450H and GS460. I called the "Lexus guest experience center" at their 800 number and they were evasive and combative with absolutely one goal in mind: No safety issue will be covered without being forced into coverage through a recall even though the service bulletin clearly covers the VIN of my 2007 GS350 and clearly identifies the defective mirror. Searches across the internet show many complaints by owners of Lexus refusing to fix this defective mirror.
