Takata recall. It has been about 6 months since we were notified about the air bag recall. We keep calling our local dealer to get an estimated date that the air bags will be replaced and all we get is ' we will call you when get them to schedule the repairs'. why is it taking so long"!?!?!?!"! I didn't purchase the car from that dealer so I wondering if they are putting my safety behind the safety of the Lexus owners who purchased a car from their store even if their car was purchased after mine's. I am tired of the inconvenience of riding in the back seat - as advised by the recall letter - and tired of asking friends and family to ride in the back seat even when there are only two of us in the car. I would like an explanation of the local Lexus dealer on how they schedule the repairs. How do they prioritize their customers to determine who will be serviced and made safer. This is totally unacceptable. None of us affected by this issue should have had to wait at all!!L

Takata recall we were first notified of the problem via letter from Lexus, Inc., on July 17, 2016. We have not been able to drive the car with a passenger in the front passenger seat since then. On April 13, 2017, nine months later, we received another letter from Lexus that they would replace the defective parts, and to call our dealer to set up an appointment. When we called Lexus kearny mesa, they told us they don't have the parts, and they would call us when they get them. Nine months? totally unacceptable.

Takata recall I received a letter dated May 23, 2016 indicating that the front passenger airbag inflator on my 2008 Lexus ES 350 needs to be replaced. I live in zone a, the highest risk area. I have called three times over the past 10 months to my local Lexus dealers, and their response has been "we have received only a few parts so far." "you will be notified when there are more parts in." My wife and I have just this one car, and having one of us sitting in the back seat each time we drive the car for the last 10 months has been very difficult. We are both seniors. Is there anything you can do to have one of the local dealers in san diego county replace the airbag very soon. Thanks for your help on this.

Takata recall: I was notified of this recall on Jan. 9, 2017. In the notification I was warned not to have anyone ride in the front passenger seat until a remedy is developed. It is now approaching 90 days without any remedy notification. I think this is a bit excessive and certainly outrageous for someone who purchased a luxury automobile and is now unable to have my wife ride in the front passenger seat.
