Seriously, I thought Lexus's were supposed to be good and reliable. You have to mash your foot down to get it to do anything, but it still takes 2-3 seconds and the engine stumbles over itself as you attempt to start. (unless you just gun it, then you look like a moron... but it avoids the problem). It's never stalled on me, but it sure feels like it wants to.

ES 330 ES330 3.3L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 48,000 miles

When slowing to a near stop (less than 10 mph) and then accelerating, the vehicle lags and then lurches to overcompensate. It does this virtually every time, making it unsafe in heavy traffic. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT IT IS A THROTTLE PROBLEM AND THAT THEY WOULD RE-PROGRAM THE COMPUTER BUT IT WOULD HAPPEN AGAIN IF I DID NOT USE PREMIUM GAS. WHY CAN'T A CAR RUN SMOOTHLY ON REGULAR GAS? DEFINITELY AN ENGINEERING BLUNDER HERE! LEXUS SHOULD REPLACE DRIVE-BY-THROTTLE! A LUXURY CAR SHOULD NOT HAVE TO RUN ROUGH LIKE THIS!
