fuel mileage not what was advertised

I had the worst experience with our 2010 Prius - it consumed oil; and, Toyota had NO recall for this!! I had other Toyota products with good service, but, I thought I'd get at least 150K miles before any such experiences! I sold the Prius at a loss. But, before doing so, I leased a 2016 Lexus ES 300h, thinking I'd get 40MPG, as was advertised on the window sticker. I took the car in for its 5000 mi. inspection, talked to a tech about the 30 MPG I was getting, and, I was told that was "research" mileage, done in a hangar, without passengers… I was very disappointed, called LEXUS customer service to find that I was heard, but nothing done. I did tell the "listener' that, from now on, not only would I never buy or lease another Toyota product, I would do my best to dissuade anyone I know who was contemplating same from doing so.
