My 2002 Lexus es would not pass the ca smog test due to it not remaining at the proper speed for the prescribed time. I took it to the Lexus dealer in Modesto, ca to have the transmission update installed......now the car shifts like slamming it into gear from neutral and then to drive at 30 mph. That update was either not installed correctly by valley Lexus, or there is a significant problem with the update!

Lexus dealership has acknowleged the problem. They say car is not performing to Lexus standards. Corporate denies problem although my research on the net suggests that early on they admitted issue. Dealership put in writing that Lexus would have computer program update. Lexus denies having any knowledge of this! Stay away from the ES and do your homework.
