The rubber casing that circles the gear knob gave way and when the wheel came down once car was turned off. That rubber casing made gear wheel get stuck in the down position and now wheel won-??t come up automatically like it-??s supposed to when car is turned on. The cost is $1500 for a Reverse Gear Shaft: GEAR SHIFT OPERATION STUCK, because of this rubber casing. This is defective and I want this investigated Please.

Range Rover Evoque 4-cyl

  • 31,000 miles
The contact owned a 2017 Land Rover Ranger Rover. The contact stated that while driving at 45 MPH, she heard an abnormal clicking sound emanating from underneath the vehicle, after which the vehicle buckled to the right. As a result, the contact briefly lost control of the vehicle and was only able to come to a complete stop after colliding with the curb. After a visual inspection of the vehicle, the contact observed that the front passenger side suspension was detached. The air bags did not deploy. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who determined that the front passenger side control arm had detached, asserting that the failure occurred due to the contact possibly driving over a pothole, which the contact disputed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact's insurance provider deemed the vehicle a total loss. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number:?16V889000 (Suspension), but the VIN was not included. A police report was not filed, and no injuries were reported. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 31,000.
