2016 Land rover Evoque. 23090 miles on it. I was driving local road around 30mpg. I heard something loud pop noise and brake system failed. Break pedal feels like sponge and sink to the floor, not enough breaking power to stop the vehicle in front of stop sign. I used engine break to reduce speed and use approximately 5-10% remain break power to stop finally. After I stopped car. I noticed break fluid is completely leaked out. Technician verified that right front caliper hose is broken. My vehicle is only 24000 miles and mostly city commute driving, no off-roading. It it-??s manufacture defect break hose, I think it-??s serious safety issue. Luckily, no accident with other vehicles in my case. Please investigate this break hose issue and prevent accident if it-??s manufacture defective break hose problem. Thank you [XXX] If you need pictures of the defective break hose or other question please feel free to send an email to [XXX]. My vehicle has brakes that catch so hard when you press the pedal lightly that the front end of the car dips down. I was exiting an offramp and the car slid sideways and I was near having a collision. It has been in the shop for this numerous times. Neil at Land Rover of san diego today told me that he did notice it when we drove different cars back to back. The car is also leaking coolant and you can smell it in the cabin. From what I read this is hazardous. This has not been resolved by the dealer and they just try to cover it up by topping off the coolant. It is supposed to be a sealed pressurized system. My last problem is the rear hatch does not always close properly or all the way. Told by shop foreman that there was an "advisory" to change out the bolts that hold the rear hatch on. I did not see any tsb for that anywhere. These are all safety issues and Land Rover is not willing to help me get them resolved.
