About These NHTSA Complaints:
This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
My car shifts into neutral while I-??m driving. This is the same issue that I see recalls for but it-??s stating that my car is not effected. Also, the rear suspension makes a loud grinding noise for no reason. It-??s weird because other 2014 Land Rovers have these exact same recall warnings and my vin number comes up clear on the internet. This vehicle only has 45k miles on it.
While pulling out, the vehicle stopped running in the middle of the road. On restart the gear selector went down and I was unable to switch to neutral to push it out of the way. I had it towed to landrover and they told me the cam sprocket stopper dropped onto my timing chain and made it fall off. Looking online it seems like this is a big issue and still no safety recall. This issue is known by landrover and I don't see why life's have to be risked for things to get fixed.
It is known the 2014 range rover/evoque has a terrible and repeated problem with the turbo /super charger over boost condition. It costs thousands of dollars to repair. This is due to a failed design with the exhaust system as range rover came up with a new design after 2014.

Recall P091 - our vehicle was not included in this recall however it suffers from the same dangerous safety issue. The vehicle shuts down while driving, even doing 70mph on the freeway. It appears to shift into neutral, with the dash saying "gearbox fault" and the gear shifter locking up. The car no longer revs and we have to coast to the side of the road. Very dangerous and we have had several near misses, including with a semi truck on the freeway. Landrover have done five (5) failed repair attempts via two separate dealerships. The problem remains unresolved. We have replaced the gearbox and turbo at landrovers suggestion of this being the issue; the car was not fixed by this. We believe that the car should have been included in the recall. This car is a deathtrap and landrover are refusing to do anything about it. We have 14 failed repairs on this vehicle in total, with landrover suggesting we pay for a 15th repair at a cost to us of almost $30,000. This would be the sixth (6th) repair attempt on this same issue alone. The car is riddled with numerous other issues. We have multiple videos of this issue taken over several break downs due to the same issue as the recall. This has happened over a dozen times, usually when the car is in motion, however it has happened upon starting the car, driving slowly on streets, and driving on the freeway at 70mph. We have all of the repair records documenting this but there are too many to upload here.
While driving the vehicle I experienced a loss in engine power and it seemed to be at a very high RPM for a low speed. The vehicle would not go over 30mph and had to be driven to the shop. It was diagnosed as a blown turbo and the turbo had to be replace. About a month later the engine needs to be replaced. I believe a direct corrulation between the turbo and engine.

While driving my vehicle it shutdown and I rolled to a stop on the side of the road. It would not start back up and had to be towed to the dealer. I was told it may be a blown motor but after additional diagnosis it was the determined to be that the timing chain broke and needed to be replaced with the tensioner. The vehicle has only 83,000 miles on it.
