2018 Land Rover Range Rover HSE V6, AWD. Two issues: 1.) When shifting into reverse, the rear camera does not come up on the main screen and you have to shift back into park, wait a few seconds and then shift back into reverse. Sometimes it may take 2-3 times to do this for the rear camera to come up on the screen. I am running the latest software/firmware version that Range Rover has automatically sent out (checked by clicking on "update software" and it says you have the latest). 2.) When the rear camera does come up, there is a noticeable, choppy lag of the frame rate on the screen. This means that while you are moving, the lag on the screen is delayed and is not real time while you are reversing. This is extremely dangerous as approaching cars or potential humans could come into your reverse path and you won't notice it until it's too late due to the lag/delay of the camera.

The center display screen turns black and stays that way for long periods of time. The climate control turns itself off and on. The backup display video stays on even after moving into drive and reaching the required speeds. Ive had no response from Land Rover customer service since December 2020

Vehicle went from park to reverse by itself. Drivers door was wide open when my wife started vehicle and by it self it engaged in reverse and ran the door into a wall. The vehicle almost ran over my wife while she was attempting to exit the vehicle. Luckily she was able to jump back in and push the brake to stop the car. My son was behind the car loading items. Luckily he had moved seconds before.

Purchased Land Rover 04/28/2018. As of 07/30/2019 it had 13,000 miles on the odometer. ' regular maintenance for vehicle followed, all at dealership, H&H Land Rover dealership, omaha, ne ' a drive down to overland park, ks from omaha on interstate 29. ' at approximately 10:40am on 07/30/2019, while traveling on I-29 (southbound), the vehicle lost power (at 70mph) the merge to the breakdown lane. The vehicle had 13,000 miles on it. Pulled over at mile marker 71. - at this point vehicle is in park and stationary. ' while on cell phone to ask for help with triple aaa, a "popping sound followed by hissing" was heard to the rear of the vehicle, this sound was similar to what you may hear when a tire blows. At this time we could smell smoke and burning rubber. This is when the engine was immediately shut off. ' a good citizen pulled over, in front of our vehicle, and started to run towards our vehicle. Driver still inside of vehicle not realizing that it was on fire. Fire was under rear under carriage. Later determined the citizen noticed the fire and wanted to make sure no one was in the vehicle. ' driver of burning vehicle opened door and looked towards the rear of vehicle to see large flames coming from undercarriage.

The infotainment meant system which is the brains of the car is constantly failing to operate properly. The screen freezes leaving inability to control A/C, radio, bluetooth phone, climate, back up cameras. This vehicle has 4500 miles on it and has been in for service 3 times, it is now back at the deal a 4th time. The computer is erratic and constantly needs to updated. There have been 4 updates since I have owned the vehicle which was in Feb 2018. Landrover is fully aware of the issues but refuses to do anything about it. I have tried repurchase and replacement, which was denied and now I have to go to arbitration with the state lemon law. The cars computer is an epic failure and crosses over to most of the 2018 landrovers. These failures happen at any time, they have occurred while stopped at lights, in standstill traffic, when turning the car on, or just when driving. There is always another surprise waiting when I get in my car.

Our new Range rover is creating a squealing noise from the interior electronics/ac unit. It's similar to letting the air out of an inflated balloon by the spout. The pitch goes higher, lower, and all over like you are moving your hands when trying to make the balloon squeal. Our vehicle is now 3 months old, and has spent 2.5 months in service. After recently getting our car back, the sound came back right away. The service dept. Is clueless, and already had put over 200 miles on our car "testing it in real world conditions." Every dealership sales & service managers, including general manager of dealer here is hardly helping and clueless. This is from Range rover newport beach, ca. Now this sound is worse, and makes you want to smash your head through the window; it's basically sound torture. Our windshield wipers have also never worked, which is extremely dangerous. However: 1) when the windshield wipers are set to on, 2) and the vehicle is in reverse, 3) then the rear window wipers come on for some reason.

After only five days of ownership, major components of the electrical system failed, particularly the displays on all of the driver information systems, including assistive services such as lane detection. The service center first stated that the problem eas serious and related to faulty wiring from the factory. They now contend that there is faulty software causing the system to fail.
