1. While driving 2006 Land Rover Range Rover HSE (L322), I stopped to groceries and to my surprise The Key would not turn in the ignition. 2. The steering wheel was locked. I checked online and appears this is a major problem for 2006 and 2007 Range Rover HSE per the Range Rover Forum that has to be addressed by Range Rover 3. Danger is the occurrence of such an event on the Highway

Fuel pump power and fuel level sensor electrical connector has undersized pins and sockets in the 4.4L and 4.2L engine equiped full sized range rovers from 06-09. The connector located on top of the fuel filter assembly on top of the fuel tank overheats and melts the plastic surrounding the copper feedthru pins connecting the fuel pump to the fuel pump relay. The pins passing thru the male portion of the connector on the fuel filter appears to be undersized. I've had three fuel pumps fail, at least one of which required the entire connector to be replaced on the vehicle (by me).

I was told by the Land Rover service manager shon torres that the steering columns on vehicles of this manufacturing year and the years surrounding it have often had issues where the steering column will stop recognizing the key. He went on to say that many times no keys can be reprogrammed to the steering column and at that point you would have to purchase a new dyeing column which costs around $10,000. This has happens once so far and I had to purchase 2 new keys and have them programmed. One day I drove the car to work and when I for in it to leave for the night, it would not do anything when I turned the key, not even would the lights come on. #2 is an ongoing issue within the same models that there is a leak that happens somewhere near the rear wiring when it rains it causes there to be a faulty connection to the radio/navigation system and causes a short in the ability of the radio to stay on and perform correctly. This is an issue that happens often. Sometimes several times in 15 minutes time and sometimes it will happen once in 15 minutes, but it always happens. The radio will cutoff and sometimes after a few minutes come back on, or it will stay off. If you turn the radio off manually it will all of a sudden pop back on. The dvd player does the same.

This vehicle was taken back by the manufacturer for electrical issues it was then resold. I just purchased it and it has serious electrical issues. I have owned it a month and it had codes within 48 hours of purchase. System failure codes. The battery is good and is drained every night and every time I go to work. This vechicle is essentially usuless and I just purchased it. It flashes random tire pressure system failure codes when it wants. Just random. It is one thing after another. Luckily nothing super safety related yet. It was manufactured wrong and was never repaired and now I am stuck with a vehicle I can't use after I have made one payment on it.

The vehicle ignition lock is not accepting the key, after removing the ignition fuse the system is re-set and key will start vehicle and unlock steering wheel lock. Took vehicle to Land Rover service center and was told by service advisor that this is a "very common" problem with the model year 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009. The only fix will be a replacement of entire steering column, after each shut off the ignition needs to be reset in order to start the vehicle. This temporary "fix" can result in sudden lock of the steering wheel while driving. So far I had 2 issues that the vehicle started but did not unlock the steering wheel lock.

: the contact stated after using the keyless entry remote to lock the vehicle doors a child inside the vehicle was unable to exit by manually unlocking the door. The only way the doors would unlock was by using the keyless entry. The dealership determined the reason the doors would not unlock is because of a security feature on the keyless entry. The manufacturer was alerted. Updated 7/3/2006 -
