This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
I bought a Discovery Sports SUV from West Columbia Land Rover Dealership located at 12500 New Car Drive, Clarksville, Maryland 21029- USA. In May of 2019 when I bought it the odometer reading was 023984 miles, as of now over 4+years since I bought it the odometer reading is just about 40K. I was told by the salesperson [XXX] that the car has gone through 400-point inspection, and it is as good as a new car. Brakes, tires all are like new, and the engine is also like new. In October of 2020, after getting routine service, the car started making noise on the right side. I called and was asked to bring the car in. My home is close to 25 miles away from this Jim Coleman dealership. I drove this car at 20 miles an hour. When I reached the dealership, [XXX] from the Service department drove my car. This is what he said, "I would not allow my wife to drive this car." When the car was inspected, he told me that the wheel bearing was bad. I was really angry that I have not even driven that much - odometer reading on 10/26/2020 - 32037, since I bought it and the wheel bearing is bad already, given I was told that the car is as good as new. Fast forward to my latest visit on 4/15/2023 with odometer reading at 039738 - almost two and a half years since the last wheel bearing was fixed (as the record states) I am told again that wheel bearing is bad on the same side. I tried dealing with the dealership as well as Tata Motors Customer care and they have washed their hands with my complaint. I think Tata Motors, which owns the company, has failed to disclose this issue with this model. This can result in an accident and lost life. Below is the link to complaints I found on the net for the same issue. https://www.discoverysport.net/threads/front-bearing-out-at-51-000-miles.12604/ I hope someone can look into this issue before it results in some serious accidents resulting in severe injuries or lost lives.
