I'm in Canada but tried to give miles not kms, U.S. dollars not CAN since this seems mostly U.S. My transmission needed to be replaced at around 96,000 miles/155,000 kms, paid $2800Can/$2150 U.S.(approx) for a rebuilt transmission, happened after warranty, not happy, but obviously the problem was fixed after.
I have a 2007 kia spectra and on may,11 2016 I lost 1st,2nd, and overdrive gears all at once. car has 135,000 miles on it. not sure how much it will cost to fix. My research online shows that model years 2005-2009 have an issue with the solder points on the electrical connections inside the transmission breaking causing a malfunction with the shift solenoids. most accounts i have seen online occur between 100,000 and 150,000 miles. this could be a possible recall issue. this mileage seems awful low for transmission issues. i have never owned a car that had transmission issues at this low of mileage. if anyone knows about how much this will cost to fix i would really like to know before taking it to the shop and getting hammered.
