Doors lock at random. Once locked keys in car. Never leave keys in car anymore unless window is down. Will do it a least 3 or 4 times in morning. Will lock when no one is around. Pain in my rear.
Since purchasing the KIA Spectra 2007 in 5/2008 ( I bought it new) I have had ongoing electrical problems with the car locks. The door lock unlock at random. I brought the car to several KIA dealers who looked at the problem but that was about it. They hooked up to the car computer and saw that there was a real problem with the locks but as it did not occur while in the shop they said there wasn't anything they could do. This is a most annoying problem that involves at times, the trunk lock. Once when driving down the highway with groceries the trunk popped open and items started flying out of the car.
If anyone can help me find an answer please let me know. The warranty is now off but I would happily have this repaired. I did online research and found other with the same issue. There were cases that said a bad relay switch was the cause. I told this to the KIA dealerships but they never explored that possibility or if they did, they never said anything.
