2016 KIa Soul Plus 2.0 (warranty expired 5k miles ago, of course). Car died 4 times while driving. Last one didn't start again and it was towed home. Private mechanics having issues with diagnosing. But we got some codes, related to fuel sensor rail - could it be pump?
The car had issues after being towed home. Doors were unlocking and locking on their own, brake lights and headlights constantly changed. I started looking for recalls since unfortunately heard about engine fires after buying this crap. And found all very similar issues are for 1.6 engines. How's that so?? Any suggestions???
I've tried pretty much everything, I put an official claim, talked to lemon law lawyer, nothing because of the 2.0 difference... BS all around from Kia.
I believe they knew what they sold me and I'm stuck with all the problems, and I'm still paying for car!!!
I will fix it eventually but won't be feeling safe on the freeways for sure.
Update from Sep 24, 2020: I haven't been able to drive car since it doesn't start most of the time... so it's been in the parking lot. On 08/28 I received a letter from Kia about an upgrade for the ECU software (they said that might solve engine stalling while driving). (And according to my own research I found its a cover up for 2.0 recalls...) So I made the appointment and went to Kia of Carson. After 3 hours they told me they could not finalized upgrade became the car wouldn't start.
They suggest I pay for the diagnose, so I agreed, and the next day they said it's the internal fuel pump, so I decided to tow it back home for second and third opinion again. When tow truck lift car up we noticed a massive oil leak. I call technician to come look. And they were totally rude... he said... I've noticed.oil leak but if you bring it here for an upgrade that's all I'm going to look for!! WTH?
I was so upset, the car never leaked! They suggest I fix pump in order for car to start and see where oils came from. The car still at dealership waiting to get towed while consulting with fraud lawyers.
Any help is useful. Thanks!
