I had become spoiled by Dodge! I had a Caliber with a paint problem. A visit to the dealer, and wham bam, it was fixed.
I noticed peeling paint on my Kia when it was just out of warranty. I think it was the mileage warranty of all things. It is the plastic panel that holds the tail light. It obviously comes from batch that had bad paint. It started as some bubbling. A friend said to remove the loose paint, and it should stop. Not only did it not stop, but it has now started to peel and bubble in a number of other places as well.
When I bitched on twitter, Kia called me and told me to take it to the dealer to have it looked at. I had done this before, and was told they would do nothing since the warranty had recently expired. They didn't offer to photograph it or anything. They supposedly have my complaint on record, and are ready if I do have it looked at, but at this point I just want to get rid of this car. I had a caliber with 170,000 miles on it that ran as good as ever with minimal repairs. This car is just a pain in the ass every time I turn around. Beware bad paint!
