CarComplaints.com Notes: Look past the horrible hamster advertising campaign and you'll find a vehicle that is comfortable to drive, roomy and reliable. Just don't expect to set any MPG records on the highway (a side effect of driving a car shaped like a lunchbox).
Had car in dealer for over 10 days for ESC malfunction in DEC 2013. On dry pavement there was loss of power and ESC light flashing. Got car back after New Year 2014 and they said they fixed the problem. Car now back at KIA dealer Jan 17 for same problem as of this writing. Also after first attempt at repair noticed that brakes were now a little spongy like the master cylinder needed bleeding. Brake pedal seemed to have more play
Driving on dry pavement transmission not shifting out of second, and sudden loss of power. ESC light flashing. Car barely drivable. Turned off ESC and car operated normal. Turned on again and problem persisted. Made appointment with dealer and they kept car till after New Year. They said they fixed problem. After only 10 days problem has occurred again . Car now back at dealer for repair for same problem .Car dangerous to drive with ESC on. You never know when it will malfunction.
