There are an ever growing number of folks having the issue, rumor has it Kia has issues a TSB to address it but no recall.

Headlights recently began shutting themselves off while driving. The park lights and daylight driving lights stay on just the low beams shut off. Hoping someone has had it fixed and can let me know what I need to do and what the issue was. Thanks

When driving with the lights in "auto" mode they randomly flicker on and off. Happened first to the spouse around 6 months ago. I noted what he said, but it is my car and hadn't happened to me, so I wrote it off. Now it happened to me in March, 2019.

I've looked on the web and it appears this is a common problem, but not one that can be replicated on demand, so Kia doesn't acknowledge it.
