2 complaints. Vehicle purchased 2016 with 9000 miles. In 2017 the vehicle would randomly start to stall or have an issue with revving. In April 2019, issues became more frequent at 50k and I took to dealership to review. They could not replicate. I had a monitor on my car for months that showed how many times it would stall. Still now in August 2020 they have not found the issue. In March/ April 2020, it began to have issues with the shifter not coming out of park. Took to the dealership which said it would cost $1080 to replace at 80k because the Body Control Module is out of warranty at 60k or 5 years as it was a used car purchase. Kia will not help us with the cost even though this is not a park we can service and previous models also had similar issues with the park/shifter.
2016 Kia Sorento LX will not shift out of park unless using shift lock override. Took to the dealer to access. Said it was the shift cable, so it was replaced out of warranty - did not fix problem. Body Control Module (BCM) is sending signal, however shift will not move. Brake light switch replaced - still not working! I see numerous complaints in many forums about this same problem - has anyone been successful getting it fixed? And what was the final diagnosis??
