The contact owns a 2016 Kia Sorento. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, his vehicle would overheat. The contact stated there was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that he added water into the coolant reservoir and waited before restarting the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to be diagnosed by an independent mechanic and he was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The local dealer was contacted and informed him that the head gasket was blown and that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.
