In the middle of driving Car decides to cut off. Started the car back up and it stalled then wouldn't go over 30miles. Had to make a u-turn to go back home and call the dealership the next day.

They ran 3 tests which determined it was the evaporation system. Had the problem fixed. Paid out of pocket only to get the car back home and the next morning while driving on 95 car decides to just cut off , first air stopped working then all lights came on. I was able to move myself over to the side of the road to get out of traffic. I waited 10 minutes turned car back on to try to get home and it started back up with all the lights on dash board on and out of nowhere the cruise control light comes on. Car is now moving but not going over 30 miles on a major highway that requires 65.

Get the car home only for it to make a noise as if the car was having a seizure, whole engine shaking and a bad smell starting to come out.

We have had our car in the shop now 5 times for the engine issue. They have replaced the engine, now the new engine is leaking oil, so they want to replace it with another engine again. Feeling very frustrated.... Paying $550/month to not have our car is very frustrating.

Yesterday while driving in northern Virginia near Washington DC in heavy backed up traffic my vehicle completely shutdown without warning. I tried to restart the vehicle with no success. I was in the next to far left lane and thank God I was on a down slope where the vehicle could be coasted on the shoulder. The problem with coasting a vehicle in this particular area is the lack of patience and understanding of drivers where I had to take a chance getting into the 2 lanes before reaching the shoulder. I had a handicapped individual and 2 elderly individuals, and a child traveling with me in 97 degree heat. Had I been driving at a significant speed at the time and not be in traffic I believe many of us would have been hurt or possibly killed.

The situation yesterday was so awful I have owned Kia vehicle since 1996 and have purchased no other type since this time. I hate to say this but I think I will be reconsidering my choice in future vehicle purchases. This is very dangerous and the problem should be looked into IMMEDIATELY before someone is hurt or killed.

This is a vehicle that we have had that is a little over one year old. My daughter and her boyfriend just got off the off ramp on a major highway and were at a stop light....engine idling. when the light changed to go, moved into the intersection, turning left and the vehicle came to a dead stop.....they were rear ended by the car following them, as the car had no way to stop and the driver had no opportunity to apply brake lights.....had this happened on the highway or with a transport truck behind them, both passengers might have been dead.....someone at KIA is going to get an earful tomorrow about this problem.!!!!!@!!!

I bought this 2014 Kia Sorento in January 2014 from Kia of St Augustine.

As I was driving down a major interstate in South Carolina, the car completely powered off at about 75 mph. Pulled over and turned the ignition off. Turned it back on and the car drove fine. This has happened one other time.
