Takata recall my 2014 Kia Sorento SUV AWD engine it ried to stalled in the middle of the highway on me as I was driving on the highway at 65 mph at the exit it stopped at the light. Even though I took my Kia in the dealership to have a software updated (ksda) in the begining of this year 2019. I was all most in a car crash from this. Becasue cars on the highway were coming my way to get off I was so scared. I called Kia dealership. I was told that my truck was not on the recall list. I knew it was becasue my truck had all the symptoms. I was told to drive it to the dealership even through I express my concern that it was something wrong with the engine I was still told to drive the truck in. The person on the phone did not even care I could have been in a really bad accident as cars were drving 65mph. So I asked my husband to take it in. He did. Kia said that they will look at it and let me know by the end of the day. Day 1 no one called day 2 I called kiaa tech said someone will call me mid afternoon. After day 2 no one called mid afternoon of day 2 so on day 3 I had to call to see what was going on then I was told Kia would replace my engine with a brand new engine not a refurbuised engine. But I dont think that will fix the problem.. I saw these recalles months before this happened for other SUV's like mine. I looked everyday on the website starting in Jan 2019 with my VIN # nothing I am concern becasue after reserach I noticed that even though Kia fixes the problems of the engine it stalked again on other customers. I am so scared to get back in that truck. I also had an appiontment schedule to fix the door locks due to recall not unlocking or locking on the recall webiste before all this engine stuff. I mention this to the Kia tech which he said do not worry we will fixed that too..

The driver's door unlocks with the key fob or key and that's the only one. All other doors must be unlocked by hand, meaning even the unlock switch on the drivers and passengers doors don't work. You can hear something actuating, but the doors won't unlock. The back door you need to crawl from inside remove a panel to unlock the back door.

Exterior lighting safety issue! last night as I was driving my low beam head lamps stopped working. The led lights above the head lamps work fine, my running lower lights and my high beams all work properly. Just my low beams no longer come on. Had to drive with hazards on. They do not come on after trying multiple times to restart car and turning them on both while driving and while being parked. Such a dangerous situation. I have read many complaints about the same issues happening! how do I fix this? I cannot believe Kia has not made this a recall yet for obvious safety issues - absolutely baffling

In November of 2018 my key fob stopped working effectively. The fob will only open the front driver side door. I contacted crain Kia in fort smith and spoke to tim in the service department who stated the problem could be something as simple as changing the battery in the fob. After changing the battery in the fob, the fob still would not open the passenger door or the doors in the back seat. I noticed something was wrong when the driving and the locks would click on and off as if I were using the fob. Even when stationary the lock would do this. On February 27,2019 my husband took the vehicle to the service department at 7:30 am and was told this would take 2 hours. At 3:00 pm the service department has not called. My husband called and was told by tim that they were unable to fix this issue yet was charged $131.70 !!!I feel that this has been a terrible injustice. Surely the mechanics knew that this was not an isolated defect from the very beginning

This vehicle has a parasitic drain issue that Kia is aware of on this model. The issue was addressed for all LX, ex, limited, and sx of this vehicle except for the sxl. I have the sxl version and was told by Kia it did not meet the VIN requirements even though it meets the born on date and has the same issues as the others. I have had my vehicle tested by a Kia master tech and it does have a parasitic drain (battery dead after vehicle sits for 48 hours) from the same drivers door switch addressed in tsb ele-069. I believe that Kia has overlooked the sxl models in their recalls as my vehicle is a 2014 and has only had the sa-163A update performed (also the only one listed for my VIN) and my vehicle has many of the same issues as the others have. Kia addressed the issue at hand on all the others, LX, limited, ex, and sx, with NHTSA id 10109757 and Kia tsb ele-069, ele-057, and sa-163. I would like to have the sxl vehicles looked into as I believe they are not getting the required tsb's addressed properly.

Ever since we took our Kia for the recall service and they "fixed it" turns out the made it worse and now the engine makes a loud rattling sound, the breaks which are new have horrible performance and the electrical issues we are having with the odometer and the transmission sensors due to the recall as well but the local Kia dealership that "fixed it" will not take a look at what they brok without us having to pay them for it we have had no accidents and it gets maintenance done on time.

Acceleration. When I accelerate it hesitates to pick up. Very dangerous as I was trying to merge into the highway or merge into a different lane it did not accelerate quickly enough and the vehicles in that lane had to brake hard as I entered that lane almost rear ending my vehicle. Even if I press the gas pedal hard it does the same thing, it hesitates before speeding up. Another issue is the door lock button from both driver and passenger sides work sometimes and doesn't work sometimes. Even when I'm driving the doors would not lock with the auto door lock feature on when vehicle gets in motion. I have to manually push the lock button for each door and when I manually lock the doors that is when the door lock/unlock buttons will work properly. Had children in the back seat and while I tried to lock the door it would not lock. Had to pull the vehicle over to hand lock each door. But very dangerous either way because I can't control what kids will do in the back in middle of the highway and if I try to lock the door I won't be able to.

Simple, just like everyone else here that complained about loss of power. But I had a diagnosis both by autozone and the Kia dealer. The diagnosis is: Error code P0717 turbine input shaft speed sensor and wiring harness faulty due to corrosion from moisture getting in from not having adequate sealing or poor quality of rubber seal. Pulling out of stores or my driveway became very damages as you could imagine and I feel the manufacturer should address any and all loss of power issue cause it can result in serious injury or death! I hope you agree and take action to help us all out please.

I have a 2014 LX with nothing special other than heated front seats. Regular ignition, 6cyl with almost 148K miles. Issue 1- at approx 100K my dash started lighting up with ABS, E-brake, trac, and tps lights. Ebrake and tps were intermittent and only came on after it rained it seemed. After plugging it up and getting no codes I took it to the dealer June 2017 and they informed me it was no big deal but it was part of a recall for a sensor. However, Kia had not provided them with the necessary tools to fix it. It's now August 2018 and I am still waiting. Issue 2- at approx 130K miles my steering controls for bluetooth and radio stopped working. The radio itself works, but when attempting to seek or adjust volume with steering controls the voice command pops up. Issue 3- at approx 145K cruise control stopped working. I can turn it on and set speed, but in less than a mile it disengages. I have found if I turn off the eco it works as it should. Issue 4 I found today. After getting a message from a random stranger through my advertised business on the back window I was informed that I have no brake lights except for the one on top (third). I just replaced them in July after a random stranger told me that they were out. When I got the message (after making my 60 mile commute to work) I grabbed a coworker to come out and troubleshoot with me. We checked fuses and they are fine. Third light works, tail lights work, turn signals and backup lights work. We took apart the tail light assembly and pulled the bulbs to check them and the bulbs are still intact (filament still completely intact) but the bulbs are charred black and the harness socket appears to have gotten extremely hot. Also the bottom of the bulb is glossy like it melted.

I was driving my 2014 Kia Sorento down a city street when my car completely shut off. Luckily I was only going about 30 mph. It lost all power and wont restart. It showed and currently shows a red steering wheel light (I've never seen before) and a dim battery display( which battery isn't even 4 months old and all features worked long as car was in aux mode) and also check engine light is on. It was putting off a bad odor afterwards, didn't smell of oil or any other fluids Sorento doesn't have any blown fuses nor did it have any service type lights on at time it shut off. It seemed to be driving fine until it shut off. No loud noise or shaking or anything have to take to dealer tomorrow had it checked for codes and isn't showing any having it towed to the dealership is my only choice

SC147. Why wasn't all the 2014 Kia Sorentos included in this recall. My vehicle stalled out on me today doing the same thing that this recall was for. Reported it to Kia and they won't do anything. My vehicle was going 55 when it lost acceleration and no power steering and the lights flashing on the dashboard with all of the warning lights on. Coasted into a parking lot, thank god no other traffic was around.
