Screeching loud sound every time I brake. I had all 4 brakes replaced, had all 4 rotors turned, replaced all 4 brake calipers and noise is still there.
On March 7th 2019 I was heading Southbound on the 405 Freeway close to the Wilshire Blvd. Off Ramp. I was going 60 mph and approximately 7 car lengths ahead traffic came to an abrupt stop. I put on my brakes and without warning discovered that they didn't work. My car did not slow down and I realized that I would be unable to stop it.
At the last minute I attempted to go around the other vehicle and I side swiped him and hit part of the left bumper and side panel on his truck. The driver I hit had about 8300 worth of damage to his truck and my vehicle was declared a total loss.
The driver of the other vehicle told me that he saw me coming in the distance and that my brakes weren't stopping the car. Fortunately no one was hurt.
In my opinion the Kia Sorento is not a safe car, and it was the cause of this accident.
During very cold conditions (aprox -26) the brakes did not catch properly and the vehicle did not stop. I pressed the brakes very hard but did not stop and we were not on ice. Please give double the normal amount of space you normally would. I had lots of space and still hit the car in front of me.
