CarComplaints.com Notes: There are just too many engine stalls or shuts down while driving reports to feel good about the Sorento. Especially when those things happen, on average, at just over 32,000 miles. Hopefully things will change.

For absolutely no reason my sunroof exploded one clear morning in August of 2014. I have a 2013 Kia Sorrento and had closed the shade on the sunroof to shield the eyes of the passenger in the back seat from the sun. Not 30 seconds later we heard a loud noise like a gunshot and my sunroof exploded into a million little pieces that all landed in the shade. If I hadn't closed it, all 3 of us would have been pelted with glass. We could have been injured or involved in a major accident. The fact that Kia is so nonchalant about this whole issue is making me sick to my stomach. I have paid for a feature that I will never use again and never drive with the roof or shade open for fear of a repeat performance. I want them to buy this vehicle back but was told me by their consumer affairs department because they don't see it as a real problem. I wish there was a class action out there I could become part of!
