CarComplaints.com Notes: As long as catastrophic engine failure at under 60,000 miles is the top owner complaint, it'll be pretty hard to recommend the 2012 Sorento.

So a little at a time things stopped working. First my clock, it's no big deal. About 3 weeks after I bought it in May 2015. They told me that I would have to pay $100 for diagnostic tests. No thanks. As time went by the heated seats went, then the Bluetooth. I thought it was just my phone's. Then in 2018 needed a smog check and they couldn't read it by plugging in the reader.
In 2019 my interior lights stopped working. So in 2020 when I had to get smog check I put 3 fuses in that runs all these functions and they blew out within a minute. So took it to dealership and they had it for a week and said they fixed it. Great after paying $124 for diagnostic test. About 3 weeks later same problem. I called them back and told them but it's hard to take it in and not have a car.
They knew in 2017 when they had the oil problem that it couldn't be read and didn't fix it then. I call them on 8/23/2022 and told them they need to get this fixed right and she said I'd have to pay again. I said no I won't and she said well it will be 2 months before we can get it in. I said I need it with in 2 weeks. I love my Sorento but there's so much electrical problem with them.
