CarComplaints.com Notes: Kia really changed the design of the Sorento in the 2011 model year. Instead of a truck-like body-on-frame more capable of offroad adventures, the newest Sorento is a unibody construction and is much more crossover than sport utility. The changes brought a whole slew of problems, including a frustrating problem where the door that won’t open. Is it too late to go back?

This is the 2nd time this has happened to this vehicle. First time was about in Jan of 2016. Last time they replaced 1 side of the harness at a cost of about $1100.00. This time the estimate was for $2500.00. Car is still in the Kia shop, hopefully be finished soon. Grrrrrrrr...
Update from Nov 11, 2020: 1st time car would not start and had to tow it to dealership. Needed new computer (warranty) and new wire harness. This time went to start car and was completely dead. Jumped it ran fine. Then I noticed no windows worked on any door at any switch. Drivers side rear door would not unlock., Low beam headlight on passenger side and high beam on drivers side no longer worked. Tried new bulbs and nothing. Guy at dealership called me back later in day and said no power going to lights.
I even keep a bag of moth balls near firewall and harness to try to keep mice away. This is BS if they are using tasty wire covers for the critters.
